I first worked on the web page after class on October 12th, converting the database comparison section from a carousel format to a drop-down menu format. I then made small formatting edits to the titles and subheadings. I further worked to add margins to the page so that it was more readable and aesthetically pleasing. Finally, I utilized the grid and flexbox layouts to better layout information at the top of our page, and to organize all of the information in the drop-down menus (which I had previously made for the database comparison section). After all of these fixes, I uploaded a copy of the zipfile (with a corrected file name) to my week 7 assignment page.

Adding on to my edits, Emma worked on the web page over the weekend. She added two more images to our web page and formatted these images into a carousel feature. She also added the summary paragraph on our gene that had been missing from our initial submission. Finally, she added references for our two images to the page. She then uploaded this file to her page.

As a final clean up, I worked on the file once again to make a few more edits to the general format of the page. I put the database names and gene ID #s into cards on the top of the page. I also reformatted the gene text to be a fix-width font. After making all of these edits, I uploaded our completed zip file to my page.

Electronic Journal

For this assignment, my partner Emma Tyrnauer and I split up the work to complete the necessary tasks by the deadline.

The integration of the Ajax sources onto our page was completed by following along with Dr. Dondi in class on Thursday, October 12th. We chose to integrate the UniProt and SGD databases into our web page (making for one XML an one JSON format).

As for the rest of the required material for this week, Emma and I discussed after class on October 12th and split up the work between the two of us.
