* I reviewed your GRNmap input workbook and have the following observations:
 +
** It looks like you did not retrieve the correct data for the "wt_log2_expression" sheet.  I.e., it still had the data from the sample file.
 +
** For the "dGLN3_log2_expression", "dhap4_log2_expression", and "dcin5_log2_expression" sheets, it looks like you are missing all data for the gene ZMS1.

* Once these are corrected, we will be able to try running it in GRNmap.

Feedback on Week 1 Assignment

I am posting the feedback on your Week 1 assignment here.

• Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
• All of the items listed in the assignment were completed except for the following items noted below. You have the opportunity to make up the points you lost on your assignment by making the requested changes by the Week 3 assignment deadline.
• Please include your full name on your user page itself. Your username appears at the top because it is the name of the page, but you should also include your full name.
• Your snail mail address needs some additional commas.
• I did not receive an e-mail from you detailing any worries/concerns or if there was anything else you wanted me to know. Please send the e-mail, even if the answer is "no".
• You wrote something in the summary field 42 out of 43 times (98%). The number of saves tells me that you are saving incrementally, early, and often, which is great! You are at almost 100% with the summary field which is excellent, too! Keep up the good work!
• A link to an external website is missing from your user page.
• You need to use three levels of headers on your page; you are only showing one so far, the "==" level. So you need to add "===" and "====".
• Besides the image, you also need to upload and link to a different type of file on your user page.
• You created your template, but did not invoke it on your page. Your template page needs to have a list of links to the weekly assignments, your individual journal entries, and the class shared journals. You could include a link to the template itself for easy navigation. You should also include the category "Journal Entry" to the template.
• Please add the Acknowledgments and References sections to your user page.
• I'm glad the Janovy article led you to see yourself as more of a biologist than before!

Feedback on Week 5 Database Page

I am posting feedback on your Week 5 Database page here.

• Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
• You completed all of the requested items except for the following:
• When creating a link to download a file, please use the syntax instead of . The latter does not create a direct download link, but takes you to a secondary page.
• Was the database curated electronically or by humans? If by humans, was it by staff or community? Your answer was not explicit on these points and only directed the reader to the database website.
• Is the database larger or small? Public or private? Again, you were not explicit in your answers to these questions.
• You provide in text citations in the form of links to about half of your answers.
• Please provide the DOI for articles listed in your References section.
• We are going to talk more about Databases and Data Formats, and Data conversion and interoperability as we go into the final project in the class.

Week 1 Redux Feedback

• This is feedback on the corrections made to the Week 1 assignment.
• You made the requested corrections to your template, but not to the other items listed in the Week 1 feedback.
• In the period of September 12 to 19, you made 56 changes to the wiki, and wrote something in the summary field 54 times. Keep up the good work!

Week 8 Interim Feedback

• I checked the workbook you uploaded for the interim Week 8 assignment.
• You used the proper syntax for making a link to download your file, but it would look prettier if you gave it a label, using the syntax, .
• It appears that all of your computations are correct, except for Cell G1 on the "dCIN5_ANOVA_B-H" worksheet.
• Now you need to sort that sheet back using the MasterIndex so the rows are in order again and paste the B-H p values into your "dCIN5_Anova" sheet.
• While I wasn't explicitly checking your methods section, I saw that you probably copied the instructions from the wiki page itself and not from the "edit" window which would capture all of the syntax required to format the page.

Week 9 Interim Feedback

• I reviewed the files you uploaded for the Week 9 interim deadline.
• While you have posted the screenshots of the results, the master Excel spreadsheet, and the input stem .txt file, you have not uploaded the individual GO list and gene list files for each profile.
• The master Excel file still seems to have some errors in it; the stem worksheet does not have the edits made that were in your .txt input file, for example.

Week 10 Interim Feedback

• I reviewed your GRNmap input workbook and have the following observations:
• It looks like you did not retrieve the correct data for the "wt_log2_expression" sheet. I.e., it still had the data from the sample file.
• For the "dGLN3_log2_expression", "dhap4_log2_expression", and "dcin5_log2_expression" sheets, it looks like you are missing all data for the gene ZMS1.
• Once these are corrected, we will be able to try running it in GRNmap.
