Feedback on Week 1 Assignment
I am posting the feedback on your Week 1 assignment here.
- You submitted your assignment on time, except for the Acknowledgments section. In the future, make sure that the entire assignment is completed on time.
- All of the items listed in the assignment were completed except for the following items noted below. You have the opportunity to make up the points you lost on your assignment by making the requested changes by the Week 3 assignment deadline.
- Your snail mail address needs a line break between "Biochemistry" and "Los". I think you put it between "Los" and "Angeles" by mistake. Always review how the page looks after you have saved it to catch stuff like this.
- You wrote something in the summary field 10 out of 11 times (91%). This is excellent because we are aiming for 100% of the time. However, with only 11 saves, you are editing too long before saving your work. I would expect that this assignment would take more like a minimum of 20-30 saves or more.
- Please remove the category "Profile Page" and replace it with "Journal Entry". It would be best if you put the category on your template page and not directly on the User page.
- Your template looks good. You should add a link to your User page to your template.
- You are missing the References section. Even when there are no other references, you need to cite the assignment page using the APA format for a web site reference.
- It's cool that you have a microscope for recreational use!

Feedback on Week 5 Database Page
I am posting feedback on your Week 5 Database page here.
- Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
- You completed all of the requested items except for the following:
- When creating a link to download a file, please use the syntax instead of . The latter does not create a direct download link, but takes you to a secondary page.
- It was not clear from your description whether the iDog database was public or private or whether it was created by a large or small organization. Be sure to explicitly answer all questions in the assignment.
- I did not see a count for how many records were in the database or what coverage claims were made by the authors in the paper.
- Was this content covered already by another database?
- Were there any links to any external databases that were not controlled by this group?
- Were there any restrictions on access?
- There needed to be citation for each answer in the form of hyperlinks to the page where you got the information.
- Your reference to the Tang et al. (2019) paper needs a DOI. For a reference to a journal article, you don't need to give an accessed by date.
- Let's keep in mind your interest in data visualization and metadata going forward as we progress to the final research project in the class.

Week 1 Redux Feedback
This is feedback on the updates you made to the Week 1 Assignment.
- Thank you for submitting you updates on time.
- You completed the required fixes except for the following:
- You fixed the category on the user page itself, but you really need to add the category to your template. That way, the category will automatically be added to any page on which you invoked your template.
- You added the reference to the Week 1 page, but the format is slightly off. "[Wikipedia Page Post]" should not be part of the reference format.
- You made 25 edits the wiki from September 12 to 19 and wrote something in the summary field 24 times for a rate of 96%. Keep up the good work!
- It would also be convenient if you provided a link to the template page itself on your template, i.e., add the link Template:Marmas. Right now the only way to navigate to that page is to type the URL directly or search for it.

Week 8 Interim Feedback
- I checked your Excel workbook, submitted for the Week 8 interim deadline.
- Your calculations on the
dGLN3_ANOVA
worksheet are correct, but your Benjamini and Hochberg correction is not correct. You need to perform the B-H correction on the original p values (column AN), but you did it on the Bonferroni-corrected p values instead. You will need to go back and correct this before you can move onto the next step. - Also, the work from Thursday and today (Tuesday) should go on your individual Week 8 page. You can simply copy over from your Week 7 to your Week 8 for this.
- Also, you have two different files with two different filenames. The intention is to keep the filename the same and upload new versions of the same file to the wiki. The wiki will keep all previous versions of what you uploaded so that you can always go back and retrieve an earlier version if necessary. This will be less confusing in the long run because you won't have to worry about juggling multiple files.

Week 10 Interim Feedback
- I checked your GRNmap input workbook.
- It is still incomplete, but there some things you need to change.
- The gene ZNF1 needs to be deleted from your network and all other worksheets. It is only connected to itself and not to any other genes in the network.
- Make sure that the gene names are precisely what is specified in the instructions.
