Asandle1 Week 6

Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to learn and become comfortable with using Microsoft Access

Methods/Results

The LinkedIn Learning Tutorial which I followed had an introduction, 3 steps of videos, and a Conclusion. I followed through the course video by video. At the end of each section I took a simple 5 question quiz. I did not download the course files and instead opted to do it from scratch on a blank Access database file. This ended up being extra work because I had to copy data by hand for some exercises to follow along with the tutorial. I didn’t have as large of a database, but the results were the same in terms of what was learned. The result of this was a Certificate of Completion.

Conclusion

The LinkedIn Learning assignment introduced me to Microsoft Access and how to use it to create and manage relational databases.

Acknowledgements

• Dean and I did not communicate this week about homework.
• I copied Katie's layout because It looked simple and elegant and saved me time. I replaced her content with my own.
• I also looked at all of my classmates Method/Results sections because I did not know the proper scientific way to write a methods/results section at a collegiate level.
• I tried my best to not copy their answer to Method/Results but to see how they did it and think through how I could do the same thing. It ended up similar and I hope that is just because we all did identical assignments. I honestly feel iffy about this section and so I will cite this section as coming from the inspiration of Hailey and Katie's content.
• I copied the sources from Katie's resources since we used the same sources. I changed the dates to reflect when I accessed them.
• Except for what is noted above, this individual journal entry was completed by me and not copied from another source.
