Methods

Turn on File Extension

  • Search "File Explorer Options" --> view --> uncheck "hide extensions for known file types" --> okay

Setting Download Options for Chrome

  • Open Chrome
  • Go to settings --> show advanced settings --> downloads --> change to T:drive --> okay

File Download and Decompress File

  • Download file from insert website
  • Open the file in T: drive
  • Right click on file --> 7- zip --> extract files

Microsoft Access File Upload

  • Open up Microsoft Access
  • Open blank desktop database and save file as "nameFDAdatabase"
  • Click on external data tab --> text file --> choose first file from FDA data --> click ok --> next --> check off first row contains field names --> next --> next --> choose primary key depending on type of data --> next --> finish --> close
  • Repeat this process until all 10 files are uploaded to access

Performing Query

  • Select the create tab
  • Click on Query Design
  • Choose tables that you want to be a part of your query ex. Products and ApplicationDocs
  • Drag each upload into table as shown in image below:

  • Select run on top left of screen
  • A Query should appear

Compress File

  • Go back to the T: drive and right click on your file from Microsoft access
  • Click 7zip --> add to archive --> zip --> okay
